Glow – Girls Life of Wellness
GLOW (Girls’ Life of Wellness) is a 12-week program for girls, young women and non-binary youth ages 8 to 14.
GLOW is rooted in the philosophy of holistic wellness. We know that a narrow definition of wellness in both theory and practice can lead to unhealthy views and behaviours when it comes to girls’ physical, mental, social and emotional health.
GLOW focuses on the 5 Dimensions of Wellness: physical, social, emotional, spiritual and environmental.
GLOW is driven by its participants’ interests and skills, so each program offering is unique. In the past, girls have participated in activities like yoga, boxing, Zumba and BounceFit, coupled with holistic wellness activities like making miniature Japenese Zen gardens, spoken word poetry jams, creating water bottle infusers, and going on nature walks; additionally, girls have regular discussions on topics like body image, self-esteem, healthy relationships, puberty, hygiene, morals & values.
Programs Starting in September:
Ages: 8 – 10, Sept 19th – Dec 5th, 4:00pm – 5:30pm
