Meal teams are needed for each location. Each meal team needs a team leader and usually has 12 meal team members. Consider volunteering if you:

What will I be doing?

The role of a Meal Team is to:

  • plan the menu

  • prepare the meal from 12:00-5:00pm

  • clean-up

What’s the time commitment?

We encourage meal teams to sign on for one meal a month. Once every other month (or other frequency) is an option as well, please contact us.

Time commitment for 12 team members is determined by each meal team, along these lines:

  • 4-6 team members for meal preparation from 12 pm to 4:30 pm

  • 4-6 team members will focus on meal serving and cleanup from 4:30 pm to 7 pm

What day and where?

Our Mission

CNT is more than just a meal program. It is a vibrant space where neighbours come together to share a meal, connect, and build a sense of belonging. By addressing food insecurity and isolation, we create strong, supportive communities and promote a joyful, inclusive city through placemaking.

Our Story

Working Together to make Cambridge Neighbourhood Table a reality

2018

The idea behind Cambridge Neighbourhood Table began in 2018 by two community minded and committed Cambridge Residents – Keith Rivers and Dan Clements – members of Citizens for Cambridge. They connected with the Cambridge Neighbourhood Organizations, and it was decided that Kinbridge had the capacity to lead.

2019

A steering committee was created to help guide the program.

Funding was received from the City of Cambridge, the Region of Waterloo, and the United Way.

2020

The first location for CNT was set to launch in May 2020 at Forward Church.

The pandemic delayed the start, and the program was paused until we were able to safely gather in person.

2023

The first site in Galt was launched in May at Forward Church.

The second sites in Preston launched in November, in partnership with the Freedom Centre, Langs and Preston Heights Community Group.

And Beyond!

We are actively exploring opportunities to expand into additional neighbourhoods in Cambridge, while continuing to operate in Galt and Preston.

Cambridge Neighbourhood Table remains committed to serving the community five nights a week across Cambridge—creating welcoming spaces where neighbours can share a meal, connect through conversation, and build meaningful relationships.

2024

In August 2024, we relocated our Galt site to Kinbridge Community Association, strengthening our connection to the community and enhancing access to supports and services.
