Last Saturday, the City of Cambridge hosted the Cambridge Studio Tour & Sale, featuring 20 artists across the city. Kinbridge was honoured to support and connect Salim, a beloved participant in the Newcomer Older Adult Program, to this tour. He was the first stop on the tour, showcasing his fine-line art drawings.
Salim has been part of the newcomer older adult program for two years, building strong connections with both participants and staff. His art has long been a space for creativity and reflection, helping him process the journey from Syria to Canada.
With the support of Kinbridge staff, Salim was able to take part in this special opportunity. Kinbridge covered his artist fee and provided tables and a tent, allowing his front yard to be transformed into a welcoming gallery.
This spirit of generosity extended beyond the staff. Participants from the program also came to show their support, while Salim welcomed visitors with coffee and treats. It was a memorable event that celebrated his talent. He shared his art pieces, sold several works, and connected with neighbours who until then had not known about his gift.
