From what we’ve heard, The Upper Cut Hair Studio has always been known for more than great hair. It’s known for its warmth, care, and for treating everyone like a neighbour. There’s a feeling of ease when you walk in, like you’ve entered a place where people recognize you, remember you, and genuinely care about how you’re doing.

So when the team decided to give back this season, it felt natural. It felt like them.

“It’s nice to be able to help our community because we’ve been so blessed,” they shared.

Owner Tammy, along with the rest of the Upper Cut team, put out a call to their clients and community. They began collecting food donations and grocery gift cards to support the Cambridge Neighbourhood Table, a Kinbridge program that starts with a shared meal, but grows into connection, access to community resources and support, warmth, and most importantly, a place to sit down, breathe, and just be with others.

And something beautiful happened.

People showed up.
Clients, neighbours, friends.
They filled baskets. They added a little extra. They gave what they could.

Some gave because they’ve experienced generosity themselves.
Some gave because they wanted to help.
Some gave because kindness is contagious.

This is what kindness in action looks like.
Not flashy. Not complicated.
Just neighbours helping neighbours.

It reminds us that giving isn’t measured by the size of the donation, but by the heart behind it. A box of pasta. A gift card tucked into a pocket. A few items added to a grocery list with someone else in mind. Each act is its own contribution to a larger story of care.

If you or your workplace, community group, school, or local business is looking for fun ways to give back this season, there are many meaningful ways to support the Cambridge Neighbourhood Table. Every contribution strengthens the community we share. Every act of generosity says, “You’re not alone. You belong here.”

To the team at The Upper Cut Hair Studio: thank you. Your kindness sparked more kindness, and your willingness to share what you have encouraged others to do the same. Your care reminds us what community truly looks like.

This is community.
This is connection.
This is kindness in action.
