World Refugee Day, held annually on June 20, is a global observance established by the United Nations to recognize, celebrate, and honor refugees worldwide.

We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Aoussaf Arrout has been selected as the recipient of the 2025 World Refugee Day Award of Distinction, presented by the Community Coalition on Refugee and Immigrant Concerns (CCORiC).

This well-earned recognition highlights Aoussaf’s remarkable dedication to uplifting and empowering refugees and newcomers across the Waterloo Region. As the Newcomer Outreach Coordinator at Kinbridge, Aoussaf has made a lasting impact, particularly in the lives of isolated older adult newcomers, refugees, and young mothers. She actively builds pathways to connection and belonging, welcoming individuals into programs that offer community, purpose, and meaningful volunteer opportunities.
Her compassion, leadership, and commitment to inclusion are deeply felt by all who work alongside her. We are incredibly proud to have Aoussaf Arrout on our team and celebrate the invaluable work she continues to do every day.

Please join us in congratulating Aoussaf on this outstanding and well-deserved achievement!
